AlixPartners

Partnerships Director

AlixPartners United States

At AlixPartners, we solve the most complex and critical challenges by moving quickly from analysis to action when it really matters; creating value that has a lasting impact on companies, their people, and the communities they serve.

We prize diversity and inclusion, the intellectually curious, the inventive, and the forward-thinking. We invite you to influence the way we work, and define the way we embrace tomorrow. By understanding, respecting, and honoring the needs of our employees, clients, and communities, AlixPartners actively promotes an inclusive environment. We strongly believe in the value that diversity brings to our experiences and are committed to the perpetual enhancements of initiatives, policies, and practices. We hold ourselves accountable by providing the space for authenticity, growth, and equity for everyone.

Role Overview

AlixPartners has an untapped opportunity to create a diverse portfolio of corporate partnerships with organizations that can enhance our client work, reduce our need to “recreate the wheel”, identify previously untapped growth channels, and decrease our time to complete client work – all with the opportunity for revenue gain. By creating a unified partnerships plan with tech and non-tech organizations we will be able to digitize the way we serve our clients across all practices and industries. The Partnerships Director will join the newly formed ‘Partnerships and Platforms’ team and will help identify our market potential, create a go-to-market strategy; initiate, close and evaluate our global partnership plan; oversee individually and through others our revenue growth; and expand the local and global reach of the AlixPartners brand, moving us from an individual contributor client pitch model to one where the collective benefits from our subject matter expertise and experiences.

The Partnerships Director will take time to learn AlixPartners’ model, clients, case studies, work and current partnerships before initiating any conversations with external organizations. Ideally, many of the first conversations will be through introductions to our current vendors or clients – and via their own cultivated network. They will align partnerships to growth avenues, enhancing our partners’ offering and brand – and vice versa. This work will create a symbiotic flywheel of market share gain, revenue growth, and brand differentiation and growth.

This is not an exercise in systems integration or the development of new technology for AlixPartners as a whole. They will work closely with our leaders to understand our structure, operating model, and abilities, and use this information to create innovation hubs both internally – and eventually with possible and confirmed partners, to bring to market new offerings. Utilization is not a primary metric for this role. Instead, we will focus on success with our partners as measured in terms of revenues generated, increased win rates, differentiated IP created etc.

What You’ll Do

  • Create partnerships with a to-be-identified network of tech companies (large and small) who can act as third-party suppliers for services our clients need and may not be able to identify or articulate.
  • Create a toolkit of platforms through partnerships that act as trusted third-party vendors that can used as off-the-shelf or customizable solutions for our clients’ digital gaps and needs. This allows for faster execution, revenue gain, and reduced headcount / staffing needs within AP. Identify – Align – Implement – Maintain
  • Drive significant growth in the amount of work we do via Partner relationships, with 50+% of AlixPartners’ revenue aligned to a Partner relationship in 5 years’ time.

What You’ll Need

Basic Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business, or Finance or related field or equivalent industry experience.
  • At least 7 years of experience required. Experience leading Partnership strategies and/or teams and initiatives, ideally within a services organization strongly preferred.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English. Proficiency in other languages is a plus.
  • Ability and willingness to work long hours and travel if necessary, to meet client demands.
  • Ability to work full-time in an office and remote environment; physically able to sit/stand at a computer and work in front of a computer screen for significant portions of the workday.
  • Willingness to work outside of normal U.S. business hours, and in particular as unique projects/needs arise.
  • Must become familiar with, and promote and abide by, our Core Values as defined by the AlixPartners’ Code of Conduct and foster an inclusive environment with people at all levels of an organization.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Have set and successfully evangelized, captured, and scaled the vision of a partnerships organization at a large consultancy or services organization.
  • Strong understanding of how to gain alignment across a diverse array of stakeholders in multiple areas of responsibility globally.
  • Have an existing network with a diverse array of tech companies (MSFT, Databricks, SAP, start-ups, etc.) that align to where AlixPartners has unmet client needs.
  • Experience as a consultant in a multinational organization is a plus.
  • Have identified and married business gaps with client needs and external vendor / partnership solutions, creating new, scalable, and profitable long-term solutions.
  • A deep understanding of the technical landscape within at least two core practices or industries within AlixPartners: Performance and Technology, Financial Services, Retail / Consumer Products, Operations/Supply Chain, Auto and Industrial, and/or Risk.
  • Comfortable working as an individual contributor, building a team and capabilities aligned to the business needs.
  • Proven ability to work across key areas of the business – Leadership, Practice + Industry leaders, Tech, Marketing / Advertising, Finance and Communications.
  • A strong orientation to marketing, brand building and operations. Strong financial acumen / P&L leadership.
