Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary contact for new and existing patients. Responsibilities include informing subjects of studies, scheduling/rescheduling appointments and answering any questions pertaining to study participation and reminder calls
  • Actively recruit and pre-screen study participants, by telephone or in person, utilizing our screening process in accordance with each protocol.
  • Schedule pre-screen eligible patients for on-site visits, documenting needs for transportation or other special accommodations
  • Responsible for all contact with subjects prior to their in-office appointments and responsible for ensuring high quality subjects are selected for each study.
  • Strong understanding of study protocol inclusion and exclusion criteria, study visit schedule, and compensation
  • Identify root causes of reported issues; determining best approach to resolve problems; expediting corrections or adjustments and follows up to ensure satisfaction
  • Help to maintain and update subject records in our electronic internal database, prioritizing the accuracy of patient information and preferences
  • Contribute to study enrollment goals per study and site, maximizing opportunities to cross-screen patients for multiple studies
  • Assess subject’s interest and willingness to commit to the course of the study.
  • Strong familiarity with FDA/GCP/HIPPA guidelines and consistently apply these on a daily basis.
  • Ensuring the privacy and confidentiality of participants’ personal health information
  • Responsibilities may differ slightly from the above based on specific needs of the business.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in healthcare, communications or science related field preferred. High school diploma required.
  • Call center, customer service or clinical research work experience – minimum 2 years
  • Preference for medical, healthcare or health insurance call center/customer service experience
  • Combination of Inbound and outbound calling
  • Utilization of chat/email/SMS experience
  • Access to dependable high-speed internet
  • Open to routinely working some evenings and at least one weekend day with flexible shifts between the hours of 8AM and 9PM EST.
  • Location: Virtual, work remotely from home (Access to a private workspace/desk or home office to work from that is free of background noise and distractions is required)
  • Medical experience/familiarity with terminology - medical, nursing or allied health professions education, healthcare certification or previous employment in healthcare or clinical research setting.
  • Sense of urgency, ability to multi-task and strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to work as a team player as well as independently.
  • Ability to adapt to changes in protocols or recruitment strategies.
  • Multi-lingual communication is a plus
  • High degree of computer and software proficiency.
  • Familiarity with multiple operating systems
  • Ability to toggle between multiple computer screens or windows
  • Quick learner of complex material.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Utilizes good grammar and pronunciation to communicate clearly, with empathy and effectively via phone, e-mail and text.
