Collaborate with category procurement teams and facilities on Assurance of supply initiatives, capacity planning with key suppliers, supplier NPI readiness, and improving supplier quality performance as required.
Typical Day
Interactions with various suppliers to coordinate supply, develop understanding of capacity, NPI readiness, etc. Significant time typically spent in MS Teams meetings; also interacting with facility supply chain and procurement teams.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree in engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, or similar; minimum of 8 years of working experience
Technical Skills
Knowledge of production planning, manufacturing engineering, process control, lean manufacturing concepts, capacity planning
Soft Skills
Excellent communication skills, able to communicate with all levels of an organization; able to promote collaboration with external suppliers; able to work independently with minimal supervision; able to navigate a complex matrix organization.
Travel Requirement: 25%-50%
Potential Travel Locations: North American supplier locations (mostly Midwest and Southeast, although some potential to other regions, including Mexico); and also Caterpillar BCP locations in Athens, GA.
