Production Planner/Scheduler

PRODUCTION PLANNER

POSITION SUMMARY:

Responsible for creation of schedules and managing the flow of work orders from order release through finished production. Execute scheduling activities designed to balance production and inventory levels, with demand in order to support customer service goals, inventory goals, and capacity utilization requirements. Work closely with customer service and supply chain teams to ensure data accuracy for inventory management and process flow.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Develop a working knowledge of the company’s products and processes, to insure optimal schedule stability and load leveling to support the efforts to become a world-class MRP organization.

Create schedules that satisfies customer demand with optimum inventory levels and resource utilization.

• Proactively review material supply and demand to determine push/pull actions appropriate to impact MPS and supply MRP exception messages.

Coordinate and plan materials requirements for production, including review of new BOM’s and cut-in dates for build verification and production units.

• In collaboration with the team, analyze inventory levels and product demands to determine reorder levels and safety stocks that will ensure product availability and minimize inventory costs.
• Support process meetings to review service levels, performance against schedule, inventory strategy, supply plan to meet demand, and resource implications.

Management of personnel resources – Motivate, develop and direct staff as they work, identify the best people for the job and effectively delegate duties as required. Develop processes, procedures and training materials to support your functional area. Strong collaboration throughout the entire organization to meet business goals.

• Interface with the Logistics team to help ensure on-time delivery.

QUALIFICATIONS:

High school diploma or GED required. College course work/degree a plus.

1-3 years of experience within production planning or supply chain

Ability to understand facilities, production lines and flow of materials and communicate to the organization bottlenecks and options to increase output and customer satisfaction

Must be a creative thinker and have a vision of how to identify problems and suggest solutions to improve efficiency

Experience using MRP / ERP systems, especially Advance Planning Systems

Must be a team player

Strong written, verbal, and organizational communication skills

Strong problem solving and analysis skills
