Position Summary

Jill’s House is seeking a Program Director to advance the mission of Jill’s House through overseeing, developing, and ensuring regulatory compliance of the Tysons programs. This position is pivotal in fostering an environment that ensures a high quality of care and safety for our clients through effective management of our direct support professionals, program managers, and coordinators.

Role And Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic leadership and oversight of all Tysons programs.
  • Conduct regular on-site visits to monitor the quality health, safety, and regulatory compliance of the Tysons program.
  • Develop, supervise, and lead a professional team of program managers, supervisors and coordinators who are responsible for the daily program operations. Provide supervision and assistance as the team fulfills their job responsibilities.
  • Ensure that managers and supervisors effectively manage and oversee Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to provide safe and exceptional care to Jill’s House clients.
  • Ensure staff needs are met through the development and implementation of structured 1:1 supervision, operational procedures, annual reviews, and spiritual development.
  • Establish performance management plan that ensures timely response for performance feedback and development.
  • Oversee and lead the recruitment process for Tysons DSP openings and participate in the recruitment process for select positions within the organization.
  • Conduct regular staff meetings to ensure timely and appropriate departmental communications. Keep the staff informed and seek ideas for improvement.
  • Conduct constructive staff performance reviews for all direct reports, ensure valid and timely completion of all DSP performance reviews.
  • Plan and participate in in-service training, staff meetings, and other activities to facilitate professional development and team building.
  • Review select investigation reports and ensure corrective actions are taken.
  • Review all client incidents and accidents, assessing needed quality improvement practices.
  • Ensure ongoing staff development, timely completion of staff training requirements, and initiatives to encourage employee retention and growth.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of program policies and operational procedures to ensure efficient and effective daily operations.
  • Provide oversight and ensure the completion of all program-related training, compliance, and safety measures.
  • Manage crisis situations, including a natural disaster, a behavioral or medical emergency, or any unplanned situation requiring immediate intervention.
  • Assist with audits and internal investigations, maintaining a strong commitment to compliance standards.
  • Provides input and assistance to the Chief Operating Officer, in conjunction with other organizational leaders.
  • Work cooperatively and effectively with all Jill’s House staff members, clients, families, volunteers, donors, and vendors. Ensures staff responsiveness.
  • Directly supervise one program shift per week and fill in, if needed, for supervisory shifts.
  • Assumes other duties, responsibilities and special projects as needed.

Knowledge And Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Minimum five years of experience in the management of a large team with corresponding operations and fiscal responsibilities. Experience in a social service or nonprofit setting is preferred.
  • Applied knowledge of CHRIS reporting database, quality improvement/assurance certification, and risk management procedures is preferred.
  • Strong organizational, problem solving, leadership, and time management skills.
  • Ability to remain calm, focused, and directive.
  • Flexibility and willingness to assist the team as needed.
  • Exposure to children or adults with disabilities is preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Working knowledge of MS office and electronic health records software.
  • Must have a profession of faith in Jesus Christ and have a lifestyle of walking with Christ that can serve as an example for the Programs team
