ASI is actively seeking a Program Management Consultant to support Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Risk Management Directorate (RMD). This position offers an excellent opportunity for early-career professionals looking to enter the dynamic field of federal consulting.

Job Desccription

  • Assist in the preparation and review of budget submissions, performance plans, and financial reports in compliance with the Planning, Programming, Budgeting, and Execution (PPBE) process and other federal budgeting guidelines. Participate in the development and implementation of financial models and forecasting tools to predict budgetary requirements and inform decision-making processes.
  • Collaborate with agency personnel and other stakeholders to gather and analyze data relevant to the agency’s planning and budgeting cycles.
  • Contribute to the evaluation of program effectiveness, identifying areas for improvement and suggesting strategies for enhanced fiscal management and program performance.
  • Support senior program managers in tracking program milestones, deliverables, and timelines
  • Participate in the coordination of cross-functional team activities to facilitate effective communication and collaboration among project stakeholders.
  • Assist in the preparation of regular program status reports, highlighting progress, risks, and issues to senior management and suggesting preliminary solutions or improvements.
  • Contribute to the maintenance of program documentation and records, ensuring they are up-to-date, organized, and accessible for team reference and audit purposes.
  • Help in organizing program meetings and workshops, including scheduling, sending out invitations, preparing agendas, and taking minutes to capture key decisions and action items.

Position Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 0-3 years of experience in acquisition program management, budgeting, financial analysis, or a related area.
  • Experience supporting Federal client; experience supporting Department of Homeland Security (DHS) component a plus
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with the ability to interpret financial data and generate insights.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, and familiarity with financial management software.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team and communicate complex financial information to non-experts.
  • Demonstrated interest in public policy, government budgeting, and strategic planning.
  • U.S. citizenship required; ability to obtain and maintain a federal security clearance.

CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: Public Trust

SALARY: Salary will commensurate with professionals with 0-3 years of experience

LOCATION: Hybrid— these positions will require our employees to be onsite four days for every paid period at the FEMA HQ, located at 500 C St SW, Washington, DC 20024
