Summary:

This position calls for a dynamic individual with an energetic, confident personality and an eagerness to take initiative to uphold company goals for quality consulting services. Understanding the construction process, understanding the permitting process, understanding building/zoning code, reading/analyzing construction documents, managing small- and large-scale projects, and communicating city requirements and facilitating all aspects of permitting with the Client and Team will be a major component of this role.

The position will involve a great deal of multi-tasking, communicating via all methods available, paying close attention to detail and travel while maintaining a positive attitude and working in a fast-paced environment. The PML1 will learn all aspects of the job, ensuring continuity in the absence of the Project Manager Level 2 (PML2)/Senior Project Manager (SPM).

Responsibilities:

  • The PML1 is the backup to the PML2/SPM and assists s/he by providing updates to relevant stakeholders on project milestones such as but not limited to filings, approvals, permits, letter of completion, occupancy and other municipality up-dates.
  • Completes project deliverables and ensures quality control.
  • Reviews all new projects and gathers all necessary information required for production of forms or electronic submission.
  • Prepares municipality applications for submission of filing, permits, objections, variances, etc.
  • Maintain complete and accurate records.
  • Facilitate communication between the APM and PC.
  • Be detail oriented and consistent about follow up to see things through to completion.
  • Manages projects and is accountable for all deliverables within the project.
  • Have timely decision making, strong critical thinking and effective leadership skills.
  • Possess strong organizational and analytical skills.
  • Communicate effectively through clear, concise written documentation.
  • Demonstrate experience directing and training personnel to meet company standards and requirements.
  • Understanding of jurisdictional requirements, and standard operating procedures
  • Demonstrate excellent negotiation skills.
  • Be the face of the company with an eye on further business development opportunities.
  • Attend city and jurisdictional meetings.
  • Perform evaluations on status updates performed by assigned team.
  • Assist accounting to ensure that all invoices connected to the project are maintained for billing purposes.
  • Travel to attend client meetings, summits, and other events as necessary.
  • Understand permit issuance policies and requirements.
  • Ability to read design plans, maps and interpret construction language.
  • Understanding of various Community Development Departments and their roles.
  • Understanding of various consultants that make up a Design/Development Team and their roles.
  • Be creative in formulating/suggesting strategies & solutions with your supervisor for any problems/issues that arise.

Education and/ or Experience:

  • The Project Manager should have at least a bachelor’s degree in highly technical fields such as architecture, urban planning, engineering etc.
  • Two to four years of experience in the construction industry, preferably in a supervisory position.
  • Must possess strong organizational and problem-solving skills along with the ability to multi-task and work independently.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft software.

Customer Service

  • Demonstrate flexibility in satisfying customer demands in a high-volume production environment.
  • Maintains the highest levels of customer care while demonstrating a friendly and cooperative attitude either verbally or written communication.

Work Environment

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

Physical Demands

  • The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
  • The employee is occasionally required to sit; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position who is regularly scheduled to work at least 40 hours per workweek.

Travel

Travel to client site or municipal agency as expected for this position. Associate may be required to attend meetings at the discretion of management and/or if it is project related.

Compensation

Milrose Consultants, LLC is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. Salary ranges are determined through alignment with market data. Base salary offered is determined by several factors including the candidate’s experience, qualifications, and skills.

Annual Salary Range: $67,000.00-$74,000.00 USD
