About The Role

Mass Virtual is looking for an energetic, resourceful, and experienced Proposal Writer to join our team! The Proposal Writer is a critical/key support role to the Business Development team. This individual will assist in providing support for all proposal efforts for the corporate proposal development, review, and delivery process. You will work closely with the Proposal Manager, Director of Business Development, and Operation Teams as needed to complete the proposal effort.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Determines proposal concept by identifying and clarifying opportunities and needs; studying requests for proposals/quotes (RFPs/RFQs); attending strategy meetings
  • Experience responding to RFIs, White Papers, and Sources Sought Notices
  • Experience with traditional Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR)-based procurements
  • Meets proposal deadline by establishing priorities and target dates for information gathering, writing, review, and approval; entering and monitoring tracking data; coordinating requirements with contributors; contributing proposal status information in review meetings; transmitting proposals
  • Gathers proposal information by identifying sources of information; coordinating submissions and collections; identifying and communicating risks associated with proposals
  • Develops proposal by conducting internal and external research; assembling information including project nature, objectives/outcomes/deliverables, implementation, methods, timetable, staffing, budget, standards of performance, and evaluation; writing, revising, and editing drafts including executive summaries, conclusions, and organization credentials
  • Maintains quality results by using templates; following writing standards including readability, consistency, and tone; maintaining proposal support databases
  • Obtains approvals by reviewing proposal with key team members and CEO
  • Improves proposal-writing results by evaluating and re-designing processes, approach, coordination, and boilerplate, implementing changes
  • Tracks projects and maintains customer relationships after award
  • Accomplishes organization goals by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments

What You Need To Succeed

  • Bachelor’s degree in English, Communications, or relevant comparable experience
  • 4+ years of proposal writing experience, with government proposal writing preferred
  • Relevant experience in government contracting
  • Federal industry knowledge
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills
  • Process and deadline oriented with excellent problem-solving skills
  • Effective in a highly collaborative and high paced work environment with leadership skills to be an effective performer and advisor to customers
  • APMP Certification Strongly Preferred
  • Proficiency in Adobe Acrobat Pro, and Microsoft Office Suite

Nice To Have

  • Proficiency in MS Visio, MS Project, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop
  • Experience with Other Transaction Authority (OTA ) based procurements strongly preferred

Working Conditions

  • In-office 100% of the time
  • The person in this position must be able to stay stationary for long periods of time
