We are hiring a Public Outreach Manager for our Civil Engineering practice in Maryland.
Position Summary
Reporting to the Maryland Regional Director as a Public Outreach Manager you will play a pivotal role in developing strategic plans to inform local communities, municipalities, and various stakeholders of Construction projects. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing outreach strategies that effectively communicate the company’s projects and initiatives to the public, stakeholders, and government entities.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Develops high-level community outreach strategies for Construction projects
- Develop and execute comprehensive public outreach plans for various projects.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for all public inquiries and communications.
- Coordinate with project managers to ensure accurate and timely dissemination of information.
- Organize and facilitate public meetings, workshops, and events.
- Prepare and distribute press releases, newsletters, and other communication materials.
- Build and maintain relationships with community leaders, elected officials, and media representatives.
- Monitor and report on public sentiment and feedback regarding company projects.
- Assist in crisis management and emergency communications as needed.
The minimum qualifications for this role include the following:
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, or related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in public outreach or community engagement.
- Strong understanding of civil engineering or construction industry preferred.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.
- Proficient in social media and digital communication platforms.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends for events.
The ideal candidate will have any of the following:
- Experience in the Construction Management or Civil Engineering industries
- Experience working with Local, State, and/or Federal Government Clients
- Master’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
