Gumband is hiring a QA Engineer to pioneer and lead quality assurance initiatives for our groundbreaking platform.

This unique role offers a broad and influential scope, overseeing quality across our hardware, firmware, and software domains. Responsibilities:

  • Reports to the Director of Engineering, ensuring alignment of QA activities with overall engineering goals and objectives
  • Participate in the entire application lifecycle, from in-code unit testing during code reviews to automated end-to-end bench testing against a prod-like environments
  • Develop and execute automated test scripts using testing software, tools, and frameworks such as Selenium, Cypress, Cucumber, etc
  • Review system requirements and track quality assurance metrics (e.g. defect densities and open defect counts)
  • Identify, record, document, and track bugs to resolution
  • Debug issues, isolate problems, and provide detailed reports for the development teams
  • Collaborate with the engineering team to ensure consistent project execution
  • Research and apply the design of best practice, high-quality test automation
  • Monitor debugging process results and provide reports and documentation
  • Ensure compliance with standards and industry best practices in all QA processes
  • Support the implementation of Gumband with clients
  • Stay up-to-date with new testing tools and test strategies, following industry trends

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, CE, EE, or a related technical field involving QA engineering or a minimum of 2-4 years of practical, hands-on experience in the field
  • Experience with QA automation tools like Selenium, Cypress, Cucumber, etc
  • Experience with IoT technology, microcontrollers, and hardware peripherals (Arduino, Particle.io, and related microelectronic components)
  • Knowledge in software QA methodologies, tools, and processes
  • Understanding of modern web development process and tech stack such as Node.js, React, PostgreSQL
  • Experience in writing clear, concise, and comprehensive test plans and test cases
  • Familiarity with both white box and black box testing
  • Experience with performance and/or security testing is a plus
  • Proficient in debugging and root cause analysis
  • Familiarity with network analysis tools like Wireshark is a bonus
  • Comfortable handling challenging problems and systematic solutions
