Radio Frequency System Engineer

RF SYSTEMS ENGINEER

Hardware design- From a clean-sheet of paper and design/build a radio from the ground up

Responsibilities:

• System level design and analysis of military and/or commercial voice and data radio
• systems
• Experience with network and radio encryption standards and operations for both
• commercial and/or military systems
• Radio and network system planning, modeling, and performance analysis
• Design of radio network systems for terrestrial and airborne applications, including
• mesh/MANET networks
• Design of radio networks for wideband and narrowband voice and data using satellite
• communications, with demonstrated experience with Iridium, Inmarsat, or others highly
• desired

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or equivalent, master’s degree desired
• 5-10 years experience with commercial and/or government radio communication
• systems and networks
• Expert understanding of radio network design, signal modulation, RF propagation and
• cascade analysis, and antenna performance modeling
• From clean-sheet of paper and design/build a radio from the ground up
• FPGA Design- Xilinx experience
• Demonstrated understanding of data networking protocols and routing schema
• Ability to develop system schematics and wiring diagrams
• Develop system simulations and perform modeling of communications networks
