Perform laboratory tests requiring the exercise of independent judgment and responsibility with minimal supervision by the Pathologist or supervisors in those specialties in which they qualify by education, training and experience.
Education, Training & Experience
Minimum of two (2) years of college with courses in biology, chemistry and mathematics and formal training in a school approved by the American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP) or at least ten (10) years experience in an approved clinical setting.
ASCP certification preferred.
Numerical ability to calculate test results using standard formulas, to measure prescribed quantities of samples during testing and to prepare proper concentrations of reagents.
Form and color perception to evaluate pertinent details of specimens under microscopic study.
Keen judgment to evaluate information against measurable criteria in the performance of tests.
Must be computer-literate to complete the task(s) as required. Such as MediTech (Hospital Support Software), Halogen (performance appraisal system), Relias (education system), ability to retrieve emails, complete online enrollment for health insurance/benefits and any other programs as assigned
