Responsibilities

As a Regional Sales Manager (RSM) with Hamilton, you will help us deliver positive innovations by developing and growing reach with customers who will benefit from our automated sample management solutions. Specifically, you will promote, present and demonstrate storage products, utilizing product and service application knowledge to solve problems and create value for customers. A successful RSM will bring an energetic, driven personality to develop, grow, and manage the West Region to maximize sales potential.

This position reports to the VP of Sales & Marketing. The West Region includes Washington, Oregon, California, Idaho, Nevada, Utah, Arizona, Montana, Wyoming, Colorado, New Mexico, and the bordering Canadian Provinces. An ideal candidate will reside in the California Bay Area .

Essential Functions

  • Manage and navigate the overall end-to-end sales process (lead to closure).
  • Demonstrate automation products and technologies to prospective customers.
  • Provide strong application knowledge of how the company’s products and services solve customer problems and create customer value.
  • Professionally and accurately represent Hamilton’s storage products and services to the marketplace.
  • Make recommendations for product improvement and pricing.
  • Investigate bid opportunities, propose pricing strategies, and report on competitive activity.
  • Develop, grow, and manage sales region to achieve maximum coverage for the optimum expense.
  • Create leads by cold-calling, internet searching, networking, and other sales hunting techniques.
  • Investigate leads, determine potential, and regularly report on this information.
  • Target key accounts and develop consistent, long-term account strategies.
  • Attend and participate in trade shows, seminars, and conferences.
  • Effectively utilize company CRM for lead, contact, and sales pipeline management.
  • Participate in meetings and strategy sessions to further company marketing and sales programs.
  • Frequent travel required, sometimes on short notice; must live less than two hours from a major airport.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required

  • Sales skills: self-motivation, closing, prospecting, business development, planning, territory management, persistence.
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal, listening, and written), including the ability to interface effectively with customers.
  • Ability to create and give presentations, including public speaking.
  • Proven customer relationship skills including excellent track record of successful account management.
  • Working knowledge of computers and software, including strong Microsoft Office Suite skills.
  • Ability to travel in the USA and Canada and hold a valid driver’s license in home state.

Education/Experience

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in science, engineering or business from an accredited higher education institution, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of accomplished field sales experience in the life science/scientific products industry.
  • Proven track record of achieving and exceeding sales goals, including small to large capital projects.
  • CRM and business development management experience.

Preferred

  • Six (6) or more years of accomplished field sales experience in the life science/scientific products industry.
  • Facilities and refrigeration experience.
  • HubSpot or Salesforce experience.
  • Database/ERP software experience (SQL, MS D365).
  • Possess a current customer contact list from end-user through VP levels.
