Job Summary

The College of Nursing and Public Health at Adelphi University invites qualified candidates to apply for a Full-Time Tenure-Track Assistant Professor position in Adult Health Nursing to begin in August 2024.

Responsibilities

  • Teach 18 credits annually (the teaching cycle begins in the Fall and includes the following Spring and Summer). Teaching during the Summer is not required but is an option. Teaching assignments will be based on the faculty's areas of expertise and may include adult foundational courses in the undergraduate and graduate nursing programs.
  • Hold a minimum of 4 scheduled office hours on a minimum of 3 separate days
  • Provide academic advisement to approximately 20-30 undergraduate nursing students
  • Faculty responsibilities also include maintaining an active scholarship agenda and service to the school, university, and community.
  • Actively participate in College of Nursing and Public Health and University committees and contribute to Adelphi University's mission and strategic plan.

Qualifications

  • A master's degree in nursing.
  • A research doctorate in nursing (PhD, DNS) or education (EdD) is required
  • Experienced RN with preferred certification as a Nurse Practitioner
  • A NYS RN license or eligible for licensure in New York State.
  • Relevant clinical nursing experience preferred.
  • Experience in simulation technology, online or blended learning, research, and education.
  • Additional experience is preferred in other areas (statistics, research design, education, administration) as well as curriculum development and implementation across all levels.

Salary Information

In compliance with New York's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is $90,000 - $94,000. Adelphi University considers factors such as departmental budgets, scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as market and organizational considerations when extending an offer. The above hiring range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. An annual base salary higher than the range may be warranted in circumstances where a candidate has demonstrable equivalent prior higher education experience at another University.
