Responsibilities

• Performs a range of procedures in a BSL2 laboratory to support virology and serological assays
• Perform viral transfections, virus titrations, and routine cell culture.
• Performs functional serological assays including but not limited to neutralization and receptor binding/inhibition ELISA.
• Prepare reagents, perform routine cell culture, and participate in new assay development and preclinical testing utilizing aseptic techniques.
• Propagation and development of pseudovirus, reverse genetics and wild-type viruses, and development-related assays.
• Stable cell line generation, cloning, PCR, and mutagenesis
• Keep accurate documentation and analyze data
• Participate in meetings to discuss literature and ongoing work.
• Ability to work independently with supervision

• Cell Culture, Microneutralization, Pseudoneutralization, Receptor Inhibition Assays, ELISA, Virus Titration, Transfection, Cloning, PCR,
  
  

Required Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities

• Minimum of 1-3 year’s experience in research, pharmaceutical, and/or vaccine development field.
• Basic background knowledge of chemistry, biology, virology and immunology
• Familiarity with various immunological assays: ELISA, HAI, virus titration, and microneutralization.
• Molecular genetics and molecular virology experience, a plus
• Must have cell culture experience
• Proficiency or familiarity in Microsoft Office, SoftMax, and GraphPad Prism
• Clear and concise communication skills
• Attention to detail and accurate record-keeping
• Team player with the ability to work cross-functionally
  
  

Education, Experience, Licenses & Certifications

• B.S. or M.S. in Immunology, Biology, Molecular Biology, Virology, Genetics, or a related field.
