Program: Sierra DOC Mental Health

Location: New Haven

Salary: $18.00/hour

Schedule: Per Diem: Days, hours and shifts will vary

Program Summary

During their 3-6 month length of stay in this congregate care type setting, pre-trial adult males with a primary mental health diagnosis are provided with supervision, psycho-educational and skill-building services to support them in re-entering the community after a period of incarceration. The goal is to reduce recidivism through establishing positive behavioral change and pro-social community connectivity.

Position Summary

The Residential Aide is responsible for direct client care. This includes activities of daily living and providing support for safety, health, and wellness. This position also assists program staff, and the ideal candidate will establish, develop, and maintain respectful relationships with the people served. The Residential Aide will participate in maintaining a safe, harm-free environment for all residents.

Working within Adult Services, the Residential Aide works on the Residential Behavioral Health Treatment care team to support clients’ recovery from mental illness, substance use, and homelessness.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma / GED
  • 2+ years relevant experience as a Residential Aide or equivalent
  • Valid Connecticut Driver’s License
  • Regular and predictable attendance is required

Orientation

If selected for employment with The Connection, newly hired employees will be required to attend a two (2) day mandatory New Hire Orientation at our Roscommon office located in Middletown.
