The Respiratory Therapy Aide (RTA) assists licensed registered respiratory therapists by providing basic respiratory therapy treatments and procedures. The RTA performs patient and family care and documentation at basic performance level under the direct supervision of a licensed registered respiratory therapist. The scope of this position performs airway clearance, administers aerosolized medications, and assists with oxygen therapy administration/transport. The RTA reports to the Manager of Respiratory Care. RTA#s must be actively enrolled in an accredited Respiratory Therapy program with successful completion of their first year of coursework. Minimum knowledge, skills, and abilities: Enrolled in accredited Respiratory Therapy program with successful completion of first years course work High School GED required Current American Heart Association (AHA) Heart Code BLS required.# New employees certify within three (3) months after hire date. Ability to read and communicate effectively in English. High degree of empathetic listening skills, tact and kindness toward others. Ability to communicate well verbally.# Must work effectively as a member of a team. Basic computer knowledge Technical and critical thinking skills. #
