Job Summary:

Retail Buyer needed in a quickly growing, rapidly expanding chain of retail stores. Candidate must be self-motivated, able to work quickly under pressure, problem solve and possess strong organizational skills. We are looking for someone who is detail oriented, motivated to drive sales and prepared to join our dynamic team. Retail experience with a large chain.

Responsibilities:

· MUST have strong analytical and negotiating skills.

· Selection of product, communicating with vendors, and assortment planning and development for assigned product category.

· Participate in the development of plans to align to seasonal buying decisions and product purchases.

· Understand the competitive landscape of other companies in the marketplace.

· Work closely with vendors to identify and select items and drive decisions.

· Negotiate all facets of product purchase, terms, price, quantities, etc.

· Partner with the rest of the buying team to partner with new suppliers to bring the best products.

· Periodically attend trade shows.

· Exhibit professional conduct in all business relationships, actions, and communications.

· Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

· Proficient PC skills and ability to work with computer applications and programs such as MS Excel and Word.

· Experience in product development is a plus.

· Experience as a Retail Buyer REQUIRED.

· Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills

· Strong analytical skills and ability to conduct analysis, solve problems and make decisions.

· Able to multi-task, prioritize work and meet deadlines.

· Strong sense of style and ability to carry out a strategic vision.

· Must be able to work 44 hours a week.

· Bachelor's Degree in Merchandising or related field.

· Minimum 5 years retail buying experience.
