We are currently seeking a Revenue Cycle Manager to help lead our Billing Department. This role is responsible for overseeing all operations of the business office. Monitors and supervises billing and collection issues. Communicates with CFO and COO any issues which may have a financial and/or legal impact on the practice. Responsible for staffing needs to maintain efficiency.

POSITION SUMMARY: The Revenue Cycle Manager is responsible for the day-to-day management of all Revenue Cycle functional areas. Reviews, designs, and implements processes surrounding prior authorizations, billing & coding, insurance & patient collections, financial counseling, etc. to ensure the revenue cycle is effective and efficient. The role is responsible for managing Team Leaders & Team Members on the Revenue Cycle Team & the oversight of assigned Revenue Cycle clients.

LOCATION: This position will support clients located in Florida.

  • Oversee the daily operation of the revenue cycle department in duties such as account management, communications with insurance providers, collections, cash posting, and billing.
  • Hire and supervise RCM staff; assists with developing and attaining performance goals and objectives. Evaluates performance and recommends merit increases, promotions, and disciplinary actions.
  • Plan and structure the department workflow and staffing needs.
  • Work collaboratively with physicians, clinical staff, and clients to improve the quality of service that supports optimal reimbursement.
  • Maintain current and in-depth knowledge of government and third-party payer billing regulations and guidelines.
  • Provides daily support and subject matter expertise to client and internal leadership and identifies areas of opportunity for continuous improvement including ongoing education and resources as needed.
  • Implement reimbursement policies and procedures to maximize efficiency. Ensures compliance with appropriate industry regulations. Ensure that end of month billing functions and reconciliations are performed.
  • Manage the resolution of client issues and ensure appropriate follow-up is done to manage client relationship.
  • Manage various revenue cycle clients and their systems, processes, and functions.
  • Manage multiple initiatives, identify, and prioritize issues to meet aggressive deadlines and organizational goals. Translate and oversee organizational strategies for assigned goals.
  • Runs reports, tracks operational and financial Revenue Cycle metrics and Key Performance Indicators.
  • Monitor aged balances of all accounts; ensures that delinquent accounts are followed up.
  • Identify & generate proposals for potential projects to improve processes and reimbursement.
  • Provide guidance to and support to the revenue cycle organization on implementations of new systems, platforms, and clients.
  • Prepare for, facilitate client, and team member meetings.
  • Perform duties of RCM staff as the department workload demands.
  • May require periodic travel to sites or client related meetings.

Position Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Medical Office Management.
  • Five years’ experience in increasingly responsible positions in healthcare leadership roles.
  • Three years' experience in an oncology billing environment
  • Experience in Windows environment including Microsoft Word, Office, Outlook, and Excel.
  • Experience in the Electronic Medical Records software used by the practice.
  • Extensive knowledge of medical billing, and insurance processes.
  • Knowledge of governmental, legal, and regulatory provisions related to collection activities.
  • Knowledge of medical and anatomical terminology.
  • Extensive knowledge of CPT and ICD9, and IDC10 coding. Strong experience with all major insurance carriers such as Medicare, Medicaid, HMO’s, PPO’s, Managed Care, and Commercial Insurances.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage clerical financial employees, understand the system in which they interact, and address the problems they encounter.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with other individuals both orally and in writing.
  • Ability to listen and ask appropriate questions to facilitate interactions with team members, managers, owners, and others effectively.
  • Strong performance orientation with experience in managing employees to improve operations and care quality.
  • Highly organized, self-directed, collaborative approach to work.
  • High level of leadership skill in communicating, delegating, planning, and prioritizing, confronting, and decision making.
  • Established history of dealing with patients and employees in a way that is above reproach.
  • This is a remote position with the expectation of travel to meet the needs of the position. Work is completed in a general office environment, sedentary in nature but may require standing and walking for up to 10% of the time. The work environment is favorable with adequate lighting and temperature, and no hazardous or unpleasant conditions caused by noise, dust, etc. Must be able to operate standard office equipment and keyboards.
