Risk Control Consultant
Role Overview
The risk control consultant assesses the risk control environment for our policyholders across all lines of business. This involves conducting on-site surveys, investigating risk exposures and accidents, and analyzing risk experience with a focus on less complex accounts. The consultant plays a vital role in providing recommendations, customizing plans, and ensuring the implementation of sound risk control programs for policyholders.
Key Responsibilities
Identify property and general liability concerns through on-site property inspections or by reviewing third-party inspection reports.
Communicate identified life safety, operational, and property concerns to HAI Group’s Underwriting, Claims, Account Management, and Agency departments through reports or other means.
Conduct loss analyses to develop and implement tailored loss control programs for the policyholder's specific needs.
Deliver effective presentations to audiences at all levels of an organization.
Collaborate with senior team members and management to create risk management educational materials, including articles and templates for sharing with policyholders.
Demonstrate physical ability to walk properties, climb stairwells, and navigate ladders to inspect building components.
Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities
Self-motivated and highly organized.
Effective in meeting deadlines.
Excellent oral and written communication skills for both small groups and large audiences.
High level of integrity.
Willingness to learn and apply best practices.
Ability to become a trusted advisor to the policyholder.
Required
Job Requirements:
Two to four years of experience in the risk control or safety field.
Bachelor’s Degree in safety, engineering, or a related field.
Preferred
Associate in Risk Management (ARM), Associate in Risk Management (ARM), and/or Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or equivalent.
Experience with general liability, property insurance, and other insurance coverages and applications.
Experience with apartment real estate or public housing operations.
