Position Summary: The Safety Coordinator administers and implements companywide occupational safety programs and serves as the coordinator for the occupational safety programs. The Safety Coordinator plans, designs, develops, implements, and evaluates departmental occupational safety programs.
Work Schedule: Monday - Friday: 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. or 7:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.
Essential Functions Other Duties May Be Assigned.
Major Duties
Work directly with Chief Growth Officer, HSE (Health, Safety, Environmental) Manager and HR to create and utilize existing procedures and protocols and to have all documentation and paperwork managed and filed in a consistent manner and communicated with team.
Assures safety programs and procedures implemented by Corporate are being followed for the benefit and welfare of employees.
Address issues and manage tasks related to safety to reduce company’s liability for risks management and insurance purposes.
Help drive health and safety by motivating employees to promote awareness and provide leadership on issues of health and safety.
Fosters new ideas to improve the safety program as well as reduce the environmental footprint of the facility
Provides task training on all equipment and tools.
Assures regular safety meetings are held and attended.
Coordinates inspections and trainings for company’s East facilities.
Effectively and appropriately communicate with department heads and supervisors.
Investigate certain safety complaints, near misses, injuries, or make sure proper authorities are notified to investigate incidents.
Identifies health and safety concerns by surveying operations, occupational conditions, investigating violations and recommending prevention programs.
Accompany injured employees to designated medical providers.
Travel to other locations and respond to second shift incidents.
Conduct and communicate regular IE audits.
Conducts weekly health and safety inspections and measures all aspects of health and safety and audit compliance with the respective programs.
Promotes a safe working environment by coordinating plant inspections and reporting statistics
Working knowledge and understanding of the Occupational Health and Safety Act CFR1910 and 1926 regulations
Working knowledge and understanding of worker compensation legislation.
Complies with all applicable legislation and regulations by advising management on needed actions.
Knowledge and understanding of MSHA regulations
Stays current with all legislated safety training.
Ability to deal with and handle a variety difficult problems and situations.
Ability to manage multiple projects.
High motivation, service, and team-oriented individual with an attention to detail.

Requirements
Qualifications:
High School diploma, GED or equivalent
5-10 years of industrial work setting experience working in a mechanically related or manufacturing environments or an equivalent combination education and experience.
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be Proficient using Microsoft Office Software including PowerPoint word processing software.
Must be proficient using mobile devices, Laptops, etc.
Forklift Instructor or able to obtain such within 6 months of employment.
Must have OSHA 30 Certification or able to obtain such within 6 months of employment.
Train the Trainer first aid, CPR, AED certification within 1 year of employment.
Must have a valid driver's license
Must comply with and follow all IE standards, programs, policies, and procedures as they apply to this position, reports any unsafe condition immediately.
Must be willing to travel 10% of time.
The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds.
Work Schedule: Must be able to work a 40-hour work week and additional time as required.
