You are an experienced defined contribution plan professional able to help identify new business opportunities as well as support external staff to accelerate our existing book of business’ growth.
The successful candidate will be proactive with all aspects of new business development, providing support to both the Sales and Relationship Management teams. Daily activities will include frequent phone calls and emails, value proposition positioning, and coordination with internal and partner advisors.

Job Summary:
This critical role reports directly to the firm President, supporting the five individuals who comprise our Sales and Plan Relationship Management teams. Your focus will be supporting the generation of new sales. You will play a fundamental role in achieving our ambitious revenue growth objectives. Daily responsibilities include researching prospects, industry conferences/organizations, and competitors to help generate new sales as well as maintain internal reporting on all sales activity via Salesforce.
Qualifications & Experience:
Direct experience in a business development role supporting external sales
Minimum 1 year defined contribution plan experience required, 2-3 preferred; government/public sector defined contribution plan experience a plus
Understanding of the different defined contribution codes – 401(k), 403(b), 457(b), 401(a)
FINRA Series 7 and 66 or a Series 65 preferred
Self-starter who can operate well in a collaborative team environment
Commitment to fostering a supportive business development environment in person, over the phone, and via email
Ability to communicate effectively with all audiences – prospects, clients, advisors, internal associates, and senior management – across all mediums in a professional and courteous manner
Strong project management skills, including a willingness to prioritize tasks, adapt to changing needs, and tackle new challenges daily
Ability to identify potential issues and propose solutions
Knowledge of Salesforce or similar Client Relationship Management (CRM) software, comfortable with other sales technology and the Microsoft Office suite
College degree preferred but not required
Salary commensurate with education and experience. Estimated range $60,000-$75,000, commensurate with experience.
