Barnstable Public Schools (enrollment 4837) is seeking qualified applicants for the position of School Facilities Director. This position is responsible for administrative, technical, and supervisory work in planning, organizing, and directing the ongoing operations of the Barnstable Public School Facilities Department. This position serves as a member of the District Leadership Team and as an advisor to the School Committee and Superintendent in all matters related to school facilities and infrastructure. The primary responsibility of this position is to ensure all School Department facilities are effectively maintained & operational. This position also plays a critical role in the development and implementation of the School Capital Improvement Plan (CIP). The successful candidate must possess the ability to work independently to both develop & implement programs. The successful candidate must have a Bachelor's degree with a concentration in electrical, mechanical, and/or architectural or structural engineering; more than eight years’ experience in the operation, maintenance, and repair of buildings and grounds, five years of which have been in a maintenance management/supervisory capacity; or any equivalent combination of education and experience.

Candidates should have demonstrable experience in the development & implementation of preventative maintenance plans and a working knowledge of rules and regulations governing the operation of school facilities including safety, procurement, and capital planning. The ability to successfully manage projects from development through completion is also required. Candidates should also possess strong communication skills & proficiency in the use of computers including word processing, spreadsheets, & databases. Valid MA driver’s license & satisfactory CORI check. Annual Salary: $110,000 to $125,000. AA/EOE
