School Psychologist

Monona Grove School District has an opening for a 1.0 FTE School Psychologist at Winnequah School. Position begins approximately August 19, 2024. Successful applicant may be required to attend training sessions over the summer.

Overview: Monona Grove School District is seeking a qualified School Psychologist, serving grades 4K-5.

Responsibilities

  • Support of inclusive classroom practices and proportional representation of all learners in all classrooms.
  • Facilitate/problem solving team meetings and support teachers as they Co-Plan to Co-Serve students.
  • Design and implement effective interventions for students, including consulting with and training of staff on monitoring data and fidelity of implementation.
  • Coordinate FBA & BIP processes, including writing plans as needed.
  • Serve on crisis response team to respond to student issues.
  • Conduct small group and individual counseling.
  • Co-plan with classroom teachers and student services staff on implementing social-emotional learning standards.
  • Consult with outside providers (medical professionals, therapists, etc.) on student needs
  • Lead special education and Section 504 evaluation processes.
  • Communicate proactively and effectively with teachers, service providers, and administrators.
  • Collaborate with school improvement teams and align practice with the MGSD Equity Non-Negotiables.
  • Establish effective rapport and build strong relationships with students.
  • Develop positive relationships and engage in open reciprocal communication with parents and families.
  • Attend work regularly.

Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities

  • Knowledge of common assessment instruments (FastBridge, myIGDIs, iReady etc.) and best practices in universal screening and progress monitoring for young learners.
  • Knowledge of and ability to analyze and present data at district, building and student levels.
  • Familiar with Multi-Tier Systems of Supports, including progress monitoring and using data to guide instruction.
  • Knowledge of and experience with proactive behavior supports and systems, including Restorative Practices.
  • Expertise in special education evaluation practices and procedures.
  • Understanding of equity as it relates to public education and one’s role in creating and maintaining equitable systems and practices.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience working with diverse learners and supporting identity relevant and culturally responsive practices.
  • Ability to use technology in support of learning and instruction.
  • Ability to work positively and productively as an active member of a vibrant student services team.

License Requirement

  • Valid WI Department of Public Instruction School Psychologist (7062) license, or ability to obtain license upon hire required.
    • Early Childhood-Adolescence or;
    • Pre-Kindergarten-Grade 12
