The Senior Accountant is responsible for overseeing accounting operations including bank transactions, revenue recognition, deferred revenue, and lease accounting along with preparing and analyzing balance sheet reconciliations. This position ensures transactions are recorded in compliance with US GAAP. The candidate should have strong problem solving skills, a drive and desire to learn, and brainstorm continued process improvements to support the growth of NetSPI.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare monthly cash reconciliations and weekly cash activity analysis.
  • Prepare monthly closing journal entries and maintain reconciliations for balance sheet and income statement accounts.
  • Review and reconciliation of deferred revenue schedules ensuring revenue is calculated in accordance with US GAAP.
  • Reconciliation and verify alignment of data between Salesforce and NetSuite systems.
  • File US sales tax and Canada HST/GST returns while ensuring compliance with tax regulations.
  • Responsible for sales tax compliance in each state and set up of new states as needed.
  • Oversee foreign entity accounting and prepare elimination and transfer price journal entries.
  • Understanding of financial statements and accounting principles including revenue recognition, lease accounting, debt issuance cost amortization, and intangible amortization.
  • Recommend and lead process and/or system improvements that contribute to more efficiency and/or better accuracy.
  • NetSuite ERP system administrator and contact for external system consultants.
  • Assist in year end audit and tax reporting.
  • Assist with acquisition diligence and integration.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or similar
  • 2 to 4 years of public accounting experience OR 5 to 7 years of general ledger accounting experience
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
  • Solid understanding of US GAAP
  • Self-motivated, detail oriented and accurate

  • Public Accounting experience
  • Experience in professional services business
  • Experience in software business
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
