The Senior Accountant will be responsible for supporting monthly close activities and financial reporting while ensuring that general ledger reporting accurately reflects the Company's financial position.
Key Responsibilities
Ensure proper accounting of general ledger transactions and prepare monthly general ledger reconciliations
Play a key role in month-end close, preparing periodic reporting schedules and disclosures for monthly, quarterly, and year-end review and audit processes
Reconcile general ledger and sub-ledger accounts
Work with cross-functional teams to support projects and implement process improvements
Analyze new and proposed accounting standards issued by the FASB to determine the impact on the company and implement new accounting standards as required
Work closely with the accounting and finance teams in addressing day-to-day business activities and associated accounting implications
Work closely with external auditors and assist accounting and finance personnel in the discussion and resolution of accounting issues
Identify significant process and internal control opportunities and work with the Accounting Manager to develop and implement solutions
Automate accounting processes as well as other business processes
Complete ad hoc analysis and projects
Perform other duties as required to meet the ongoing needs of the organization
Education & Experience
4+ years of relevant experience in Accounting
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required; a High School Diploma or GED plus 2 additional years of relevant work experience may be substituted in lieu a Bachelor’s Degree
CPA strongly preferred
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Public accounting and/or public company experience strongly preferred
Strong understanding of US GAAP preferred
Experience with Sarbanes-Oxley compliance, processes and controls, including the ability to identify and mitigate risks preferred
Ability to communicate effectively across all levels of an organization with a strong attention to detail
High degree of flexibility and customer service attitude needed
High level of integrity
Must be team oriented and be able to adapt to changing requirements
Must be highly dependable and demonstrate resourcefulness
Pay range: $76,600 - $89,400 / year Pay is based on nondiscriminatory factors, including but not limited to experience, education, skill, and location.
