About The Team

The Global Real Estate leadership team is made up of Directors and Sr Directors including Outsourced Services (Cushman & Wakefield), Workplace Safety & Security and Strategic Planning along with regional leadership for EMEA, APJ, HQ & West and North America with a total global team of 100 Workmates. This team manages the company's global real estate portfolio, safety, design, construction, and facility management. This team also has responsibility for Workday’s physical security and safety.

About The Role

Workday is looking for a versatile Senior Director of Real Estate and Workplace, Global Operations to join our team. This full-time position is based out of our Pleasanton, CA location. This position plays a meaningful role and will report to our VP, Global Real Estate, Workplace, & Safety.

We are looking for someone experienced, flexible, reliable, outgoing, and professional, with a positive work attitude. This role with will lead a global team of Workplace Regional Sr. Managers to ensure operational excellence in each office, while focusing on process improvements & sustainability at scale.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the Global Operations teams in Americas, APJ, and EMEA
  • Lead all aspects of site activities - facilities maintenance, landlord and property management liaison, shipping and receiving, food operations, space planning, move coordination, sustainability programs, business continuity planning, food services, and janitorial services
  • Develop and supervise performance against finance forecasts and plans, to ensure the achievement of results in quality, delivery, and experience and reflect this in objectives and key results dashboard
  • Implement a comprehensive workplace strategy that aligns with the company's strategic location goals and values across an office portfolio of 82 occupied spaces across 34 countries
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams such as People & Purpose (HR), Business Technology (IT), Employee Life, and Site Leadership to integrate to improve workplace efficiency and productivity
  • Build a vision for Workday’s culture through amenities & services on site; align to employee experience programs across the world
  • Prepare and maintain an annual budget for buildings and facility operations & sustainability
  • Lead and control region facilities spending to be in-line with overall departmental and company approved budget and spending guidelines
  • Identify innovative solutions that optimize square footage requirements to meet a very multifaceted business environment, including leading site divestitures efforts or supporting new business development integration activities
  • Travel to other Workday offices is required

About You

Basic Qualifications

  • 15+ years of operations or comparable experience working in corporate facilities, along with 3rd party vendor management
  • 8+ years of direct people management experience
  • Must be willing to be "on-call 24/7”

Other Qualifications

  • Ability to think creatively and bring forth innovative ideas and programs for employees
  • CFM, FMA industry certifications preferred
  • Excellent technical, interpersonal, and analytical skills
  • Excellent written and oral communications skills
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • Experience with contract negotiations
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office & Google Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint)
  • Willingness to work hands-on and with a sense of urgency, in a fast-paced, ambitious environment
  • Proven enterprise approach and Facilities Management policies and programs
  • Understanding of financial systems and programs to ensure development of achievable OpEx plans that deliver required services and operations to meet business requirements across a diverse, complex business environment
  • Ability to absorb multiple inputs in stressful situation and develop a rational plan forward

Workday Pay Transparency Statement

The annualized base salary ranges for the primary location and any additional locations are listed below. Workday pay ranges vary based on work location. As a part of the total compensation package, this role may be eligible for the Workday Bonus Plan or a role-specific commission/bonus, as well as annual refresh stock grants. Recruiters can share more detail during the hiring process. Each candidate’s compensation offer will be based on multiple factors including, but not limited to, geography, experience, skills, job duties, and business need, among other things. Primary Location Base Pay Range: $223,200 USD - $334,800 USD

Additional US Location(s) Base Pay Range: $197,600 USD - $334,800 USD
