Summary: The Senior Electrical Engineering Manager is a high-level management position responsible for overseeing larger or more complex electrical engineering projects. This role includes managing several Electrical Engineering Team Leads and ensuring the efficient allocation of resources, workflow management, and independent QA/QC of design team outputs. The ideal candidate will possess advanced technical competence in electrical engineering, exemplary management skills, and significant hands-on leadership experience.


Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  1. Understand electrical project requirements and develop design fees for the requested work.
  2. Prepare and oversee work plans for electrical engineering and production resources.
  3. Evaluate and manage current team and project resource allocation as well as fee disposition.
  4. Supervise Electrical Engineering Team Leads, Engineers, Designers, and Modeling staff assigned to team or project work.
  5. Communicate with Operations, Production, and Supply Chain regarding project efforts and expected deliverables, including developing or overseeing requests for additional services for submission to the PM team or Owner when necessary.
  6. Conduct QA/QC of electrical project designs developed by Engineering Teams under your supervision.
  7. Resolve technical problems efficiently and effectively.
  8. Coordinate electrical projects with city, state, and county officials, as well as other regulatory agencies.
  9. Perform Value Engineering studies to ensure cost-effective and efficient project outcomes.
  10. Lead electrical engineering projects from beginning to end, working side by side with the team to ensure successful project delivery.


Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university or college in electrical engineering, architectural engineering, or construction sciences.
  • Typically requires 10-15 years of electrical engineering experience.
  • Registration as a licensed US-based Professional Engineer (P.E.) in electrical engineering is preferred.
  • Field experience in electrical engineering projects is strongly recommended.
  • Proven leadership experience, including leading a team of 3 or more.
  • A combination of education, training, and relevant experience will be considered.

Competencies:

  • Leadership: Ability to lead technically complex electrical engineering efforts and manage multiple diverse teams. Proven experience leading a team of 3 or more.
  • Hands-On Management: Not just a strategic role—must be able to lead projects from beginning to end and work through them side by side with the team.
  • Electrical Engineering Expertise: In-depth knowledge and experience in electrical engineering.
