Senior I&C Engineer
Summary
DPS is looking for a driven, team-oriented, Senior Instrumentation & Controls Engineer that specializes in the design, development, and specifying of Instrumentation & Controls equipment, components, or systems for life-science, biopharmaceutical, and/or microelectronics/semiconductor facilities. The ideal candidate will have previous experience working in an engineering design or consulting firm.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead a team of Engineers and Designers on large and complex projects.
- Coordinate with project management, vendors, clients, design members and fellow engineers to solve complex process engineering and piping issues.
- Review and develop Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs) in conjunction with Process and Mechanical Engineers.
- Produce deliverables such as instrument datasheets, instrument indexes, wiring schematics, I/O diagrams, control panel design and scopes of work.
- Produce and review 2D and 3D design drawings for Life Sciences facilities in accordance with project requirements, codes, specifications, and procedures.
- Work directly with lead engineers to develop technical strategy and deliverables for Biotech and Pharmaceutical client projects.
- Demonstrated understanding of controls for fermenters, bioreactors, centrifuge, viral filtration, chromatography, and other Biotech Pharmaceutical process equipment.
- Identify deliverables, defining requirements, create design documents and contribute to design reports.
- Develop technical controls specifications/strategies and network architecture design.
Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering.
- 6+ years of I&C engineering experience, preferably in a design or consulting firm.
- Control Systems Engineering experience involving: DCS, PLC, MES, SCADA, bus technologies, Ethernet/IP.
- Previous experience working in the Biotech/Pharma, Chemical, Food or other industries.
- Thorough knowledge of P&IDs, Instrumented, and Automated system hardware.
- Knowledge of CIP, SIP, and process utilities control systems.
- Strongly motivated, well organized, and shows professional initiative.
- Takes ownership of assignments, can work both independently and as part of the team.
- Excellent organization skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Knowledge of GAMP 5 guidance to achieve complaint computerized system.
- Understanding of environmental monitoring system for pharmaceutical and biotech clean room applications.
