In this role as the Senior Merchant for Dockers Men’s Bottoms, you will inform and lead in developing a consumer and market relevant, category-leading product leveraging the customer, trends and competitive intelligence that achieves financial and brand equity goals. You will report to the Director Merchandising, Dockers.

About The Job

  • Create an assortment strategy based on analysis of both the Docker's and competitor marketplace while considering global and local requirements. Deliver assortments following brand’s look and feel; achieve financial targets
  • Direct the creation of a consumer-focused global product vision. Influence internal and external partner’s around strategic vision. Monitor and share competitor trends including strategies for different markets.
  • Engage and partner with regions/affiliates to ensure understanding of merchandising recommendations and develop insights into the local markets. Partner with regional merchants for alignment and to gain specific geographic expertise
  • Expert in the industry, one who understands regions market share & opportunity to grow. Expert in connecting the dots and create product ideas to win in the marketplace
  • Partner with the Director, on global strategy and the long-range category plan. Deliver metrics for multiple categories. Influence SBP & business strategy
  • Participate and present in the monthly and quarterly business review meetings and update the design & PD partners on product sales
  • Partner with the regional merchandising team to develop a compelling global product offering for a category or segment, aligned with big ideas of the brand. Interpret and incorporate regional brief requirements in developing a global brief to the licensee partner
  • Manage and build team. Mentor and potentially manage one or more coordinator, associate or merchant.
  • Oversee product data integrity in merchant systems and processes
  • Partner with director and cross functional teams to strategize product testing and insights

About You

  • Bachelor's degree in related discipline (8+ years combined college education and work experience may be substituted for a degree)
  • Minimum 5 years direct merchandising experience working at an apparel manufacturer, retailer or marketer
  • Minimum 3 years in a management role with responsibility for team leadership and development
  • In-depth knowledge of merchandising and design trends in the global marketplace
  • Knowledge of garment design/construction and cost of goods

The expected starting salary range for this role is $96,600- $146,200. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range based on the location of the role. The amount a particular employee will earn within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, experience, skills, performance and business needs.
