THE POSITION: The job of Senior Network Systems Technician is done for the purpose/s of providing technical support, analyzes problems, and performs maintenance of microcomputers, minicomputers, peripheral equipment, and Local (LAN) and Wide-Area Network (WAN) systems, with primary emphasis on installation, configuration, and troubleshooting of complex server and network-based systems. This job reports to the Assigned Administrator. This a substitute position. The works hours will be 5 days a week from 8:30 am - 4:30 pm. No benefits or paid holidays are attached to this position. This position does not qualify for remote work option.

TYPICAL DUTIES: Administers systems and servers related to district LAN and WAN (e.g. email systems, accounts, print queue, workstation ID, IP assignments, computer labs, classroom computers, VOIP, security, antivirus, spyware, etc.) for the purpose of ensuring availability of services to authorized users. Assists Network Administrator with NOC (Network Operations Center) operations for the purpose of ensuring guidelines are being followed. Designs computer networks (e.g. Internet, intranet, web mail, FTP servers, etc.) for the purpose of ensuring effective and efficient operating systems. Installs computer basic storage systems for the purpose of maintaining up-to-date technology. Installs network cable systems including UTP, coaxial and fiber for the purpose of upgrading and maintaining District WAN/LAN and telecommunication systems. See full job description for more information. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Experience: Three (3) years related experience with network systems configuration. Education: Bachelor Degree in systems technology discipline.
