SEnergy is seeking detail oriented, self-starter that is creative with proven success in power delivery.
This position plans and designs projects for power delivery.
The successful candidate will have 8 or more years of successful experience in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering in transmission, distribution, or substation for the power industry.
The position is located at our Boerne office and may require some overnight travel to project sites.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Plans and designs electric transmission lines
Analyzes existing transmission lines for conductor upgrades and communications cable additions
Research and studies new technologies, methods, and equipment
Drafts, finalizes, approves, accumulates, and issues drawings, material lists, manuals and schedules for construction and revises transmission records to reflect as-built conditions
Provides technical design support to Clients during construction process
Develops, approves, and maintains material specifications and construction standards
Develops design processes and procedures
Provides transmission project budget estimates, when appropriate
Estimates quantities and cost of materials, equipment or labor to determine project feasibility
Performs other duties as assigned
REQUIREMENTS:
EDUCATION:
Required: Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering from an ABET accredited program;
PE License 8 years’ experience in Transmission design for the Energy industry
Possess strong analytical and technical problem-solving skills and able to communicate effectively, orally and in writing
SKILLS: Strong (effective) written and verbal communication skills, exceptional computer skills, with emphasis in project management, spreadsheet and word processing applications. Strong skills of time management, organizational and multi-tasking.
PHYSICAL: This position requires the ability to listen and hear, good eyesight, sitting, standing, walking, and use of hands and arms.
