What to expect in this role

We are looking for an experienced Senior Stratus Software Engineer with a strong background in VOS and C programming to join our engineering team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining software applications on the Stratus platform. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the reliability, scalability, and performance of our software solutions.

• Design, develop, test, and maintain software applications on the Stratus VOS platform.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, and other engineers to deliver high-quality software solutions.
• Guides early-career engineers by providing learning tasks as well as work related tasks, directs the work of emerging talent, and helps them continue to grow in their technical skills through mentorship.
• Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code in C.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex software issues and bugs.
• Perform code reviews and provide constructive feedback to team members.
• Participate in the full software development lifecycle, including requirements gathering, design, implementation, testing, and deployment.
• Work directly with partners and customers to assist with design and evaluation to maximize performance and scalability
• Ensure software solutions meet performance, security, and quality standards.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends and technologies to drive continuous improvement.

Requirements and technical skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Proven experience as a Software Engineer with a focus on Stratus VOS and C programming.
• Strong understanding of VOS operating systems and Stratus hardware.
• Proficiency in C programming language and experience with other programming languages is a plus.
• Solid knowledge of software development best practices, including design patterns, coding standards, and testing methodologies.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with other programming languages such as C++, Java, or Python.
• Knowledge of networking, databases, and distributed systems.
• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum development methodologies.
• Previous experience in a senior or lead engineering role.
