Senior Technical Designer

Role Description

This is a full-time role as a Senior Technical Designer for the cut and sew division at MAJOR LABEL GROUP, located in the New York City Metropolitan Area.

We produce all size categories including Children, Men, Junior, Missy and Plus garments.

Responsibilities include cross coordinating the technical design process for the development and production of apparel products.

This includes creating technical design packages with construction detail information, partnering with cross-functional teams, and ensuring the accuracy and quality of the final product.

Senior technical designer is responsible for in house fittings, as well as fittings with buyers for private label accounts.

Daily direct communication with factories for all fit comments, pattern corrections, nest and grade review.

The position offers flexibility for some remote work.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in technical design, specializing in cut and sew and woven categories
• Walmart experience a plus
• 3D VStitcher a plus
• Sweater knowledge a plus
• Proficiency with technical design software and tools
• Strong understanding of garment construction and fit
• Knowledge of pattern-making and grading are required
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Multi tasking and understanding priorities and deadlines are critica
• Knowledge of garment construction and manufacturing processes
