Underwriting Trainee Opportunities: Gain Real World Experience

As a participant in our Small Commercial Underwriter On-boarding and Risk Education (CORE) training program, you'll gain invaluable experience to kick-start a successful underwriting career. Our 14-week hybrid training program, beginning October 2024, combines self-directed learning with virtual classroom sessions. You'll gain practical experience and receive ongoing mentorship and support from industry experts. After completing the program, you'll be well-equipped to embark on a rewarding career journey with us.

Responsibilities

  • Work within our small commercial underwriting team to support small business owners, handling various commercial lines including Business Owner's Policy (BOP), Commercial Automobile, Workers' Compensation, and Umbrella.
  • Learn to effectively assess and price individual risks, analyze loss and risk data, and identify potential issues to ensure profitable commercial business operations.
  • Collaborate with territory sales representatives to achieve growth and profitability objectives.
  • Develop and nurture relationships with key agents to secure new accounts and drive optimal business outcomes in a competitive market.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree preferred, or equivalent combination of education, training, and insurance experience.

  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Goal-oriented with a track record of delivering results promptly.

  • Successful completion of training program requirements and underwriting assessments.
  • Flexibility to travel up to 10%.

Remote Work

Compensation

The annualized base pay for this position ranges from $51,440 to $77,160, reflecting market analysis of similar roles. Actual compensation may vary based on performance, skills, and demonstrated competencies. In addition to base pay, the company offers a comprehensive compensation package that includes bonuses, incentives, and recognition programs.
