Smart 3D Developer

Job Summary

Client is looking to expand its Engineering Technology Solutions Department into a world class organization able to supports Client's operational and development needs as it relates to engineering applications, especially Client's fully integrated Smart Plant environment. This position will work with other team members, Engineering and Design Departments to provide operational and development support

Responsibilities

Duties include but are not limited to:

Create .NET & COM based custom 3D symbols, custom programs, tools & SP3D commands for Smart 3D application. Create .NET Rules that would run in the background processing & computing 3D objects using Smart 3D Rule Checker service. Make use of Smart Plant 3D Automation COM & .NET API as necessary and utilize SQL queries where API is limited using Visual Studio. Develop rule-based specifications & catalog for Piping, Electrical, Equipment HVAC tasks in Smart 3D. Backup and restore projects within Smart 3D. Managing and creating reports in Smart 3D. Creating View styles, Orthographic, Isometric Drawings for Structural, Electrical and Mechanical disciplines. Prepare any required design documents and work on development item per priorities. During development, report any software limitation or bugs found in the software (SmartPlant3D), file support ticket to the software vendor (SmartPlant3D Support Team Intergraph/Hexagon) Communicate to other teams for any impact to tools that are linked to Smart Plant 3D & assist in working out appropriate solution. Follow client's standard testing procedures to test the functionality on a Smart 3D test environment. Create admin documentation for the new development and its relevant information such as location of the program files, source code, projects deployed etc. Create user instructions on usage of new functionality. Configure new development on projects that are approved. Trouble shoot tickets related to Smart Plant3D & tickets related to custom program/tool developed for Smart Plant3D Document solutions found while troubleshooting into knowledge base for future reference. Assist team members for any guidance required related to break-fix tickets.

Qualifications

• In depth knowledge of Smart 3D design workflow
• Strong knowledge of Smart 3D architecture & its schema and database
• .NET Programming skills of Visual Basic & C# required.
• Good working knowledge of developing Windows desktop application using .NET architecture.
• Knowledge of writing SQL queries
• Any experience with Web application development and/or scripting languages would be an added advantage.
  
  

Industry Specific Experience

• A minimum of 5 years of experience within the EPC industries, in a relevant role and with strong project execution experience, is required.
• Experience in project delivery for the Energy, Chemical, Power or Industrial markets
