Join our innovative team as the Manager of Data Modeling Experience (DMX) and lead the transformation of LinkedIn's data modeling landscape. We are committed to providing developers with effortless compatibility and runtime efficiency using Protobuf, ensuring a unified, schema-validated experience across multiple programming languages. Drive excellence in data modeling and enable our diverse development teams to focus on creating cutting-edge applications.

Responsibilities
Standardize data modeling with Protobuf. 

Develop and maintain schema validation and compatibility systems. 

Build a schema rules authoring platform. 

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate Protobuf. 

Proactively identify and resolve issues to ensure peak application performance. 

Mentor and guide team members to foster continuous improvement. 


Basic Qualifications
BA/BS Degree in Computer Science or related technical discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
7+ years’ experience in software design, development, and large-scale software engineering
2+ years of experience in software engineering management.
Experience in hiring, mentoring, coaching and developing top engineering talent.
Experience programming in object-oriented and/or functional programming languages (Java/C#/etc.) and distributed systems concepts.
Hands on experience developing distributed systems, databases, or other large scale data systems.

Preferred Qualifications
Extensive experience in data modeling with Protobuf, understanding its nuances and best practices. 

Proficient in Java, Go, Rust, and Python, with a deep understanding of how to apply Protobuf within each language. 

Expertise in developing and implementing schema validation frameworks, ensuring data quality and compatibility. 

Demonstrated ability to integrate Protobuf across various development environments and systems.

LinkedIn is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices.
The pay range for this role is $156,000 to $255,000. Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience, certifications, and specific work location. This may be different in other locations due to differences in the cost of labor.
