The Opportunity ...
As a Software test engineer at JBT, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality and reliability of our software applications, both on PC and on our vehicles. You will work with the development team to design and execute test plans, identify and report defects, and contribute to the improvement of our software development processes. Additionally, you will help managing the test environment, both on PC and on the vehicles.
Responsibilities
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand software requirements and design test plans.
Develop and execute test cases to ensure the functionality, usability, and performance of software applications on PC and vehicles.
Set up and maintain the test environment, including PC-based testing tools and vehicle-specific testing equipment.
Identify and document software defects, and work closely with the development team to resolve them.
Conduct regression testing to ensure the stability of software releases on both PC and vehicles.
Perform exploratory testing to uncover any hidden issues or potential areas of improvement.
Participate in the design and implementation of automated testing frameworks and tools for both PC and vehicle testing.
Collaborate with product managers and developers to ensure a thorough understanding of software features and functionality.
Document and communicate test results and provide recommendations for improvements.
Stay updated with the latest industry trends and best practices in software testing.
Requirements
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
Minimum of 3 years of professional experience as a Software Test Engineer, Software QA Engineer, or in a similar role.
Strong knowledge of software testing methodologies, tools, and processes.
Experience in designing and executing test plans and test cases on both PC and vehicles.
Ability to set up and maintain the test environment, including PC-based testing tools and vehicle-specific testing equipment.
Familiarity with test management tools and defect tracking systems.
Proficiency in automated testing frameworks and tools
Experience reviewing code to find and address potential issues and defects and ability to identify software defects.
Experience communicating updates and resolutions to customers and other partners.
Experience with robotics and automation

The estimated salary range for this role is $100,000 - $115,000 dollars annually. Please note the salary information shown above is a general guideline only. Starting salary will vary by location, qualifications, and prior experience salary and comprehensive benefits package.
