Sr. Financial Analyst

Job Summary

Responsible for the financial planning, forecasting and budgeting of the company. Includes understanding unit level (e.g. company-operated Shacks) and company-level (e.g. G&A) performance. Helps develop company strategy and model potential scenarios to drive long-term growth. The Senior Financial Analyst position is a hybrid of traditional FP&A and strategy work.

Job Responsibilities And Duties

  • Review historical results to develop sensible basis upon which to forecast. Prepare flexible financial models with clean outputs. Propose new ways of forecasting and budgeting. Successfully explain variances to expectations.
  • Long-term planning support for management. Ability to interface with management to collect input and incorporate ideas / scenarios into a financial model. Propose scenarios that describe future growth plans. Run sensitivity analyses.
  • Develop reports that help our business counterparts measure performance and allow management to quick glean insights (more focused on enterprise level e.g. cash flow).
  • Ongoing ad-hoc support. Help business leaders make decisions with financial models.
  • Identifying and pursuing opportunities for increased profitability and efficiency
  • Educating non-finance partners of business concepts and increasing the business acumen of departmental leadership

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • Strong knowledge of MS Office applications, especially Excel.
  • P&L Management Experience
  • Highly skilled with MS Excel and building dynamic financial models
  • Able to work independently with little direct supervision
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Well organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to tailor based on audience and present confidently and cohesively
  • Ability to partner with a range of cross functional partners some of whom will have little to no financial knowledge or training
