Strategic Alliances & Interface Solutions: Alliance Manager

Your team, Strategic Alliances & Interface Solutions (SA&IS), operates across business functions: grow your network, challenge your thought diversity, and be prepared to exercise your emotional intelligence. We are committed to modernizing Varian-to-3P connectivity from diagnosis through survivorship. We need you to join in the fun, and quite frankly the challenge, of managing a portfolio of 3P alliances that is burgeoning beyond the normal course of business!

Specific Responsibilities

  • Identifies, leads, and manages key alliances to meet strategic goals and business objectives for Varian, A Siemens Healthineers Company.
  • Ensures agreement construction and contract management. Has expertise on all agreements within the 3cosystem alliance program and a working knowledge of Varian interactions with a given 3rd Party within their portfolio.
  • Expands commercial relationships. Responsible for reporting a transparent assessment of relationship status (green, yellow, and red) and for striving towards OR maintaining a green status. Alliance Managers are relationship managers between Varian and the 3P companies in their assigned portfolio.
  • Manages risk by ensuring business and legal compliance. Manages escalations up through the Executive Leadership Team and works closely with the Director, SA&IS and relevant Product Manager during escalations.
  • Works on business and legal alignment with the alliance and consults the Product Manager on technical aspects. Agreements are refined, delivered, and maintained by the Alliance Manager.
  • Supports invoicing related to the alliance contracts and assists with payment resolution in collaboration with the assigned Account Manager as needed.
  • Supports diligence on alliance screening activities for Copper and Silver tiers. Upon assignment, leads diligence for Gold Tier evaluations and above.
  • Generates, assists, and/or refines financial models related to a given 3P product. If this work is performed outside of an AM's portfolio, it is a special assignment.
  • Collaborates on negotiations with the Director, SA&IS on new/updated business activities.
  • Provides management updates on relationships and alliance status.
  • Monitors and provides recommendations for improvements regarding processes, procedures and organizational issues related to key alliances and within the SA&IS team.
  • Leads or assists in exploratory alliance activities to extend or enhance Varian’s product or technology portfolio. Collaborates with the Strategy & Business Development (SHS-VAR-ST&BD) team on any special project that involves an AM's portfolio or is otherwise assigned as part of Portfolio planning and expansion.
  • Works with Product Management to design and update processes (e.g. an updated 3cosystem screening process).
  • Works closely with Legal to bring better understanding of Contract terms to higher executive and other Varian/SHS stakeholders when necessary.
  • Organizes 3cosystem non-marketing commercial needs for major meetings such as ASTRO, ESTRO, and AAPM.

Desired Qualifications

  • Bachelor or Master’s Degree or equivalent
  • Experience with aligning stakeholders from two different companies and diligently working towards a strong relationship between the companies
  • Experience with relevant commercial agreements and business operations that affect product companies when doing business with each other
  • Preference for professional experience with or extensive training on developing financial forecasts/models
  • Preference for specific alliance and/or account management within the Radiation Oncology industry
  • Strong interpersonal communication and analytical skills
  • Fluency in English language, written and verbal. Additional languages are a merit.
  • Reliable, tenacious, team-oriented
  • Ability to “influence without authority”

The base pay range for this position is

Min $101,000 - Max $181,900

The pay wage range shown is based on the job posting's primary location. Actual compensation packages are based on a wide array of factors, including but not limited to skill set, experience, certifications, and location.
