Summary
This position provides in-class Tier I and and pull-out Tier II behavior support to increase student achievement and social emotional development. This position also supports school-wide PBIS systems and socio-emotional programming. They will collaborate with and consult with staff to improve student success while supporting school and district policies surrounding its mission, vision and goals.
Responsibilities
Provide push-in classroom behavioral and academic support
Support the implementation of school-based PBIS systems
Assist in the implementation of the school’s socio-emotional programming (Second Step and Conscious Discipline)
Provide direct services to students with social/emotional and behavior concerns.
Assist with crisis intervention
Implement Tier II behavior intervention strategies for students
Collect and report data on student behavior
Assist in the coordination of lunch/recess supervision and support positive behavior during these unstructured times
Participate in professional development on best practices in working with students with adverse childhood experiences and trauma informed schools/practices
Follow state legal requirements and district and building policies and procedures
Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Required:
Bachelor's Degree with a major pertinent to the position requirements
OR
Equivalent work experience pertinent to the position.
Minimum of one year experience in: working with at-risk students in a school environment.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills; excellent organizational, interpersonal and conflict management skills
Computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office software and operating knowledge of scheduling software
Physically able to perform including, but not limited to, standing, walking, reaching with hands and arms
Completed and submitted BVSD online application
Communicate (read, write, and speak) in English, must pass English component of interview process
Preferred
Bilingual/Biliterate - Spanish/English
Proven experience supporting positive student behaviors in a school environment
Thorough understanding of appropriate developmental behaviors in school-aged youth
Salary Information
Salary Range 1: $61,786.00 - $92,679.00
Salary Placement varies according to experience and education.
Pay range listed above is for employees newly hired to BVSD or current BVSD employees that are new to the employee group (existing employees currently in this unit please refer to the pay range on the appropriate salary schedule). BVSD engages in a salary placement process vs. a salary negotiation process.
