About the Role:
The Technical Manager oversees Engineering and Quality. This role supports all facets of our manufacturing processes and plays a critical part in interdepartmental communication. Responsibilities include updating and collaborating on projects, new product launches, and addressing quality issues.
Oversee the engineering control process, including document control and blueprint accuracy.
Utilize the ERP system to develop and update Bills of Material (BOMs) and technical routings.
Employ CAD/CAM software for designing new products, fixtures, and workholding, and provide technical support for manufacturing issues.
Serve as the project leader for new machine installations, process development, cost-saving initiatives, and Quality Root Cause Analysis.
Lead quality management efforts, addressing both internal and external quality challenges.
Uphold and refine Quality Standards.
Act as the primary point of contact for supplier and customer quality complaints.
Collaborate with the QA inspector to ensure the accuracy of gauge calibrations and oversee necessary repairs and purchases.
Engage with customers to resolve product inquiries and provide technical support.
Develop and maintain Work Instructions.
Other tasks as required.
Qualifications:
Technical degree preferred.
Strong time management skills and a results-oriented approach.
Experience in metal cutting, particularly with CNC lathes and mills; programming experience is preferred.
Tooling knowledge and experience.
Proficient computer skills, including Outlook, Word, CAD, and ERP systems.
Prior experience in manufacturing and shop floor operations.
Excellent communication skills, both for internal and external interactions.
