Position Summary

Reporting to the Program Manager – Carewell Training, the Training Navigator II will be part of a team of professionals who help deliver the benefits of labor-management Trusts. The Training Navigator II will be responsible for outreach to workers throughout their training journey in order to identify barriers and provide wrap-around support to help workers access and complete their initial and on-going training.

Essential Functions

  • Work independently under the direction of the Program Manager – Carewell Training to ensure program outcomes are reached.
  • Establish a trusting relationship with students, providing them with a sense of support and care in the work they accomplish.
  • Evaluate workers’ reports of barriers to complete training, determine worker’s eligibility for support, and process supports for workers experiencing barriers.
  • Receive, manage, and process worker inquiries through case management.
  • Discern, identify, and raise student concerns that require immediate attention.
  • Process and schedule requests for students who require interpreters.
  • Liaison with the Student Support Specialists and the MAC (Member Assistance Center).
  • In coordination with the Carewell Stakeholder Liaison, engage and collaborate with partners such as SEIU, Oregon Homecare Commission, and DHS Local Offices.
  • Provide resources and support for workers as requests arise.
  • Mitigate risks, resolve issues, facilitate team and project communication.
  • Develop and implement plans to meet program goals and improve workflows.
  • From time-to-time, perform other duties commensurate with the level of this position.

  • Ability to support RISE’s organizational values of Respect, Integrity, Service and Equity in the development and delivery of your work including demonstrated positive interactions with staff, vendors, the consumers we support and other organizational stakeholders.
  • Experience using software such as: Salesforce, Slack, Microsoft Teams, Asana.
  • Ability to use the following office equipment, tools, and machines: laptop computer and mouse, mobile phone, printer, copier.

Experience

  • 3+ years of previous experience in a similar role such as:
    • Experience in client services.
    • Experience in case management and student/employee support.
    • Experience in community organizing or advocacy work.
Supervisory Responsibilities

This position is not responsible for supervising other staff members.

Working Conditions

  • Requires occasional lifting and exertion for short periods.
  • Occasional long hours, weekends.
  • Occasional travel between worksites and/or meeting locations within the state.

Language Differential

In addition to the base pay, a 7% pay differential will apply for demonstrating written and verbal fluency in a second language (Spanish) to support the essential functions of this position, pending a passing score from Language Testing International.
