We're seeking a Transportation Business Line Manager to join our team to spearhead business development efforts and bolster our presence in State and Municipal Transportation markets within Massachusetts.
Key Responsibilities
Actively participate in strategic planning sessions to set sales goals and objectives, aligning them with the company's overall mission and vision.
Help create a specific growth strategy for transportation in Massachusetts.
Establish and maintain client relationships, supporting technical staff in doing the same.
Identify project opportunities and develop client and opportunity plans.
Assist in proposal development and participate in client interviews.
Lead the development and implementation of marketing strategies to promote the Transportation Department's services and expertise.
Engage in industry associations, seminars, and networking events.
Foster a culture of continuous improvement within the Transportation Department, encouraging creativity, learning, and professional development among team members.
Lead project teams in planning, execution, and delivery of transportation projects.
Mentor staff and identify training and technology needs.
Assist in identifying staffing needs and recruitment efforts.
Serve as a subject matter expert on transportation-related issues, providing guidance and insights to clients, colleagues, and industry partners.
Stay abreast of industry trends, regulations, and best practices.
Position Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree; P.E. MA preferred
Minimum 15 years of relevant experience in Transportation Design with a focus on Highway or Bridge Projects
Previous experience with MassDOT and MBTA preferred
Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with clients, partners, and stakeholders
Demonstrated track record of successfully managing large-scale transportation projects from initiation to completion
Experience in negotiating contracts, scopes of work, and project budgets
Excellent communication and presentation abilities
Team player that is adaptable to changing needs
Outgoing and comfortable with client and partner networking
Proactive approach to problem-solving and decision-making
This position will be based in either our Boston or Quincy, MA office, but you have the flexibility to work remotely. Fuss & O’Neill encourages a hybrid workplace, allowing you to create your career and future from your preferred location.
