Facilities Engineers with experience in clean utilities, clean steam, HVAC, and overall a broad background with clean utilities.
Objectives
The Facilities & Maintenance Manager is responsible for overseeing and coordinating the daily operations of a facility, ensuring the smooth functioning of its infrastructure, equipment, and services. This role involves managing a team of maintenance staff, developing, and implementing maintenance and calibration schedules, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations and company policies. The Facilities & Maintenance Manager collaborates with various departments to maintain a clean, safe, and efficient working environment.
Responsibilities
Facility Operations Management: Oversee the day-to-day operations of the facility, including building systems, equipment, utilities, and services.
Monitor and maintain HVAC systems, electrical systems, plumbing, and other critical infrastructure to ensure functionality and compliance with regulations.
Production Equipment Management: Oversee the day-to-day maintenance of the production equipment, including repairs, calibrations, and preventative maintenance. Ensure equipment is operating within the validated specifications/parameters.
Safety and Compliance: Ensure compliance with safety standards, regulations, and company policies. Develop and implement safety protocols, conduct regular inspections, and address any potential hazards or issues promptly. Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to execute emergency response plans.
Budgeting and Resource Management: Assist in developing and managing the facility's budget, including maintenance expenses, equipment upgrades, and supplies. Monitor expenditures, identify cost-saving opportunities, and maintain inventory levels of essential materials and equipment.
Strategic Outlook: Develop multi-year equipment replacement and facility maintenance plans. In collaboration with the various functional managers, establish a multi-year strategy that aligns with forecasted needs of the business unit.
Vendor and Contractor Management: Collaborate with external vendors, suppliers, and contractors for equipment servicing, repairs, and other facility-related tasks. Evaluate vendor performance, negotiate contracts, and ensure timely completion of work while adhering to quality standards.
Staff Development and Training: Train, mentor, and provide ongoing guidance to maintenance staff. Foster a positive work environment, encourage professional development, and conduct performance evaluations.
Identify training needs and organize relevant skill-building sessions.
Collaboration and Communication: Coordinate with various departments and stakeholders to understand their facility-related needs and address any concerns promptly.
Foster effective communication channels and provide regular updates to management regarding facility operations, maintenance activities, and potential improvements.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in facilities management, engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
Minimum 3 years experience in facilities management or a similar role, with a track record of successful operations oversight.
Minimum 3 experience in equipment maintenance or a similar role, with a track record of successful oversight.
Preferred Qualifications
Strong knowledge of building systems, equipment, and maintenance best practices.
Familiarity with safety regulations, codes, and compliance requirements.
Excellent leadership and team management skills.
Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
Proficiency in using computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) and other relevant software.
