Job Description
VP of Finance & Operations or CFO/COO
The VP of Finance & Operations or CFO/COO is responsible for the execution of the company’s
vision and strategy that will lead to continuing high performance and organizational growth in
alignment with the President, CEO, and ownership’s expectations. As a key member of the
leadership team, the ultimate function of this Finance & Operations leader is to support the
revenue cycle and growth, maximize profitability and cash flow, while helping the company
manage risk and ensure long-term sustainability. Additionally, this leader will manage and coach
his or her team to operate in a high performance, fast paced, customer-centric environment,
continually looking for opportunities to improve processes, increase efficiencies and scalability,
with a heavy focus on people, profit, process, technology, and systems.

The VP of Finance & Operations or CFO/COO is responsible for managing the overall daily
business operations and implementing corporate decisions.
The VP of Finance & Operations or CFO/COO will confer with the President.
Strategic supplier risk and opportunities
Monthly/Quarterly/Annual financial results and analysis
All capital expenditures over $25,000.00
Key HR Decisions Concerning Hiring, Firing And Compensation,Specific Responsibilities
General Management:
Leads the organization in accordance with the company’s core purpose with an emphasis on
our core SECURE values.
As a member of the Executive Leadership Team, the VP of Finance & Operations or CFO/
COO will be an advisor to ALL functional leaders, evaluating and assisting them with their
financial plans, budgets, and economic modeling.
Will be responsible for overseeing ALL fiscal and fiduciary responsibilities for the
organization, in conjunction with the Owners and Board of Directors.
They will create financial and business reports and metrics that reflect business health and
direction to the Board of Directors with meaningful commentary, recommended trends, and
actions.
Manage, along with the Senior Leadership Team, the strategic decision-making within the
organization by leveraging financial data to drive business transformation.
Fosters the development of Strategic Deployment (SD) to drive accountability and alignment
of priorities.
Create a high-performance environment for the Finance, Operations, and IT teams that drives
accountability and teamwork both within those functions, as well as across the organization.
Ensure that record keeping meets the requirements of auditors and government agencies.
Establishes and fosters strong partnerships with organizational functional leaders.
Maximize return on financial assets by establishing financial policies, procedures, controls, and
reporting systems.
Financial Management
They will oversee accounting functions including general ledger, banking, daily reconciling, A/
R, A/P, state sales tax, cash management, customer credit, budgets, and planning.
Manage monthly and annual financial forecasting and budget processes across the
organization.
Work with the Controller to analyze weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual reports and
financial KPI. Oversee the management of state sales tax, including software.
Work closely with the VP of Sales on monthly sales commission and report calculations.
Work closely with the VP of Sales to create and deploy forecasting methodology.
Maintain and improve financial policies, procedures, governances, controls and reporting
systems.
Operations & Supply Chain Management
Oversee Supplier Management Tools including: Supplier Agreements, Supplier Evaluation,
Material Cost Savings Projects and Project Funnel.
Mitigate supplier risk by developing second sources for all raw materials, 3PL and buy/resell
goods.
Cultivate strategic supplier relationships.
Advance inbound and outbound shipment tracking with barcode and scanners to get near real
time supplier receipts and customer delivery status.
Oversee the negotiations of inbound, outbound ocean and over the road carrier cost, including
small parcels.
