- [Instructor] Now that we've already covered the fundamental concepts behind ospf, let us now proceed on how to configure it to our network. I've prepared a network via Cisco Modeling Labs for a demonstration. Let me start with the router RA0. The interfaces have already been configured with ip addresses, so all that is left for us is the ospf configuration. As with any routing protocols, we start first by going to the global configuration mode. For that I'll just type in conf t after which we then need to type the command router space ospf space process ID. Take note that for ospf configuration, we use process ID, not the autonomous system number for which the process ID is only local to the router. It doesn't have to match the process IDs on other routers. That means we can actually have different process IDs on other routers on the network if we'd like to.
