How should healthcare providers & patients learn and use AI?

- What do you think healthcare providers should know about AI in healthcare first and foremost, and how can they best stay informed and make educated decisions about everything in this field? - Yeah, I think, and this is probably true for anyone, really, not just healthcare providers, but in particular, we really have to start to gain that baseline intuition. What is this thing useful for? Can you think about that intuition in the context of the tasks that you're doing on a day-to-day basis? And can you find areas where this might help automate things or save you time, or make your job a little bit easier? And I think we're already seeing a ton of that. I mean, again, partially because this technology is so accessible, we're seeing folks saying, "Oh, wow, I could use it for writing my prior authorization letters." Or, "Wow, I could really use this for drafting the notes to my patients after their visits." Like, all these kinds of things are starting to bubble up very quickly. And so we're already seeing a ton of engagement, I think, from the provider community. On top of that though, you're asked the question kind of like, how do you stay up to date? How do you keep informed? We all feel that sense of, we're a little bit behind. No matter where you sit, no matter what your background is, everyone feels a little bit uncomfortable with the pace of capabilities. And so I guess my message is, that's normal. And really again, this is really goes back to, what things can you pull out of your own intuition in working with the model that can impact your life in a positive way? And to continue to do those things, and the technology will catch up and the technology will continue to take you on. So keep that conversation going. Don't just work with a model for a few weeks, say it couldn't do X, Y, Z, and then never go back to it again. Because of the pace of technology, because of the rate of change. Keep that in mind. Keep that conversation going. Keep using these tools, and over time, you're going to start to, on both sides, find that the purposes and the use cases you have will be achieved. - Thank you for that. That is comforting to know how normal it is. And that's so true. Not only in healthcare, but in all industries that are now dipping their toes to embracing this technology. It takes some time. And then finally, what key message would you like to leave with our audience? Again, people who are watching this course, there are certainly many healthcare providers, but also non-healthcare care providers, patients, and just people who are curious. What do you want to leave our audience with about your thoughts about the future of AI and healthcare? - I think from my perspective, and hopefully this is shared by everyone that, the concepts and principles that kind of underlie what's happening right now can be learned by anybody. You don't have to go back and get a computer science degree. You don't have to start learning how to code. The time has never been better to really lean in and start using AI. And I think, everyone still will come away with their own sort of ideas of where they want to apply it. But the time is now. And I couldn't be more excited about more and more people bringing their use cases and building things in this kind of the new world that we're experiencing.
