- Each of us has learning preferences. Like everyone, autistic people rely on their learning preferences to succeed in the workplace and when organizations embrace their people's learning differences all the way from orientation to onboarding, to training and development, everyone at the organization will benefit. Let's discuss common learning preferences starting with visual. Visual learners respond best by seeing new information. Seeing how information flows together usually makes more sense based on how they process information rather than trying to hold information in their minds and decoding it. Some examples are charts, mind maps, images, diagrams, and videos. On demand videos like this one, have helped many autistic people to learn new skills.
