- [Instructor] In this video we are going to be talking about VMware HCX. Think of VMware HCX as a workload mobility platform that has features designed to simplify migrations of VMs between the on-premises environment and AVS. HCX appliance is typically deployed to an on-premises setting essentially establishing a networking layer between on-premises and AVS. Think of HCX as a layer that is abstracting on-premise resources and cloud resources and making them appear as a single resource greatly simplifying this migration. And when we do a demonstration later on in this course you will see what I mean by this abstraction layer. When we deploy AVS and we have selected the HCX add-on. All of the necessary software within AVS is already configured for you automatically and this includes the HCX cloud manager. You are however, still required to download the HCX connector and install it on your on-premises setup. Let us look…
